Protein Hot Cocoa

There is nothing like a steamy cup of hot cocoa; it’s sweet, comforting and good for the soul! This recipe is made with protein and no added sugar, enjoy this sweet treat guilt free.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Unsweetened almond milk, vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 scoop (20 grams) Chocolate protein powder
  • Pinch Salt
  • Pinch Cinnamon
  • 1 packet (2 teaspoons) Truvia
  • Whipped cream for garnish

Instructions

  1. Warm milk in microwave for 3 minutes. Or warm in a saucepan on the stove. 
  2. Add all ingredients (except the whipped cream) to a protein shaker bottle.                                                                                                                                    
  3. Shake it up. (The shaker cup eliminates clumps and foams it up a bit.) Be careful not to overly shake, the heat from the milk can cause pressure build up.  
  4. Pour mixed hot cocoa into your favorite mug. 
  5. Top with whipped cream.
